It’s been a pretty big year for Twenty Øne Piløts. I anticipate lots of young people to take over the Yum! Center. But hey, fun fact! We interviewed Judah & The Lion last year before LouFest. It’s pretty cool to see these guys doing so well!
Monday (3/6) –
It’s Women’s History Month and we want to celebrate that every. damn. day. Join in that celebration with us and these ladies at Headliners.
In case you haven’t heard, Hilltop is temporarily closed for reconstruction. Come grab a drink at Silver Dollar and your money will support the neighborhood bar!
Tuesday (3/7) –
We caught this beautiful couple in 2014 at The Ohio River Throwdown and have been counting down until we could see the folky bluesy singer-songwriters again.
Apparently the San Diego-based tribute band is as close to Mr. Cash as it gets. Guess you’ll just have to see for yourself.
Bring your recent fav album or break out one you’ve had stashed away for years. Pick a side and it will play.
Wednesday (3/8) –
Nikki Lane is one talented human. Her music, style, persona speaks for itself.
Louisville has lended Wendy Whelan to the New York City Ballet company for the last 25 years, but she’s coming back to her hometown for a performance alongside NY-based string quartet Brooklyn Rider.
South Carolina’s electropop Glass Animals take on The Cure Lounge.
Two local bands + NOLA/New Hampshire garage punk at Kaiju.
Thursday (3/9) –
Mike Doughty make take us back to better, lighter days, but it is certain that he has never left. The Heart Watches While the Brain Burns is Doughty’s 2016 release
It’s not too often that reggae artists pass through Louisville, so if this is up your alley, don’t miss out.
We have insider information that you need to call ahead to reserve a spot at Lola for one of these shows. Sounds like this one’s booked but if you’re going, lucky you!
Friday (3/10) –
Isaac Mingo has come and gone from the Louisville music scene, but he’s back again with The Night Birds. Their EP drops Tuesday so you can have a listen before the show.
Come for the music and stay for the cheap drinks and DKD eats.
You should go simply because all of the band names are on point.
We’re taking a break from beer in March (#SpringBreak2k17) but this is the start of Britt’s birthday weekend so those rules don’t apply, right? Let’s hope because Goodwood’s Live Music Friday is where it’s at.
Saturday (3/11) –
I think it’s safe to say spring has arrived for good, right? Dogwoods are blooming left and right, and it’s time for the ST. PADDY’S DAY PARADE YAAAASSSSSSS. Just make sure you get your post-parade nap in so you can rally later on at one of the many shows taking place!
These tickets sold out in a hot second. If you got in on one, we hope to see you there! Neko Case is a powerhouse, to say the least, and this will likely be the highlight of the week.
Dusty’s at it again with another Living Room Series show. It doesn’t hurt that Communist Daughter is amazing and also that there’s always thebestfoodever provided by Dusty, himself.
