Live Music Lou’s Can’t Miss: October 30 – November 5

Halloweek is pretty full. Get your yearly fix of costume-wearing, but more importantly go out and do stuff!

Sunday (10/30) –

Alex G, LVL UP, Brandon Can’t Dance

Alex G took on Forecastle this summer and is back for more at Zbar. If you are looking to start of this Halloweek on a high note, this is the lineup you want.

Halloween Dark Market

Haymarket hosts a Halloween eve art market.

Yo-Yo Ma

The fastest ever sell out in Kentucky Center’s history (don’t quote me on that, but it was hella fast) has the Louisville Orchestra joining the AMAZING Yo-Yo Ma. If you snagged some tickets, we are jealous you lucky, lucky dog.

Monday (10/31) –

Lucius Halloween Party! with Cactus Blossoms

Lucius KILLED their Waterfront Wednesday set. Get your costume set and prepare for a night of insanity.

Halloween Dance Party with Vampire Weekend’s Baio, OKDeejays, Ian Summit

Chris Baio is most recognized for his bass playing with Vampire Weekend, but the man is hosting a Halloween dance party at Zanzabar. This sounds so glorious.

Vinyl Night Album Cover Costume Party

For Monday vinyl night regulars, this is the special famous annual album cover costume party!!!

Monday Night Frights at The Ton: Trick R’ Treat, House of 1000 Corpses, Halloween

If you’re not feeling dancing or loud music but instead want to sit back and watch some scary ass movies, go to Louis’s.

Tuesday (11/1) –

Purity Ring

See below. I have to be there, but if there wasn’t this conflict, I’d totally be at Purity Ring ready to rage.

Bob Dylan and His Band

I AM ABOUT TO SEE BOB DYLAN. The new Nobel Laureate takes on the Kentucky Center and I will be there in person. Checking off another album wall name.

Fruit Bats, Courtney Marie Andrews

Fruit Bats are a 90s Chicago band that was quite influential to the folk-rock revival in the 2000s.

Wednesday (11/2) –

Drive-By Truckers, with Kyle Craft

Another Athens, GA bred band, Drive-By Truckers are stopping by Headliners to share their new release, American Band.

Natural Child

Nashville’s Natural Child have a new album, Okey Dokey, and it sounds realllll nice.

Team Trivia at Galaxie

This new weekly trivia sounds like my kind of time.

Thursday (11/3) –

Russ: Yung God Tour

Russ is a young rapper out of New Jersey, but he actually has ties back to Kentucky. He’ll be at the Mercury Ballroom on his Yung God Tour.

Eliot Lipp, Freddy Todd

We were at Zanzabar last March when Eliot Lipp was in town last, and although the crowd in attendance was definitely into his set, I certainly hope more people show up for this extra special treat.

Robert Randolph & The Family Band

Robert Randolph’s steel pedal chops are enough to bring me in, but the rest of the fam seal the deal.

Frederick the Younger, Joann & The Dakota

Two local dandies will be at The New Vintage.

Friday (11/4) –

Lil Uzi Vert

Hip-hop fans need to head to The Palace again this week! This young Philly rapper has quickly risen as a need to know artist.

Dave Moisan- The Heavyweight Album Release Party, with A Lion Named Roar and Kylan Road

Dave Moisan is unfortunately out of the running on The Voice but he does have a new album that everyone in Louisville NEEDS TO HEAR! We’re headed to Chicago for some rugby action and are super bummed to miss this one!

Saturday (11/5) –

Vandaveer

Love these guys. Solid option.

Vandaveer

Joanna Barbera, Adam Faucett

Dusty and his Living Room are always wonderful hosts.
