Hit the town and catch some music this week. Things are starting to pick up again, particularly by the local artists we love. Check our socials for more!
Tuesday (1/17) –
Junior Brown, with Johnny Berry & The Outliers
Junior Brown has been making music fans happy for many years now. If country rock is your thing, he’s your man.
Ben Sollee with a special surprise opener
This last minute show at the Actors Theater is sure to be magic. Ben Sollee is a true performer and with the special surprise guest awaiting, we are sure to be pleased.
Wednesday (1/18) –
WFPK Winter Wednesday with Nicole Atkins and Ryley Walker
It is time for another Winter Wednesday. With only two more left, we totally recommend this free event. Nicole Atkins’ voice is absolutely stunning (BTW, check out our interview with Nicole Atkins before ROMP a few years ago!) and Ryley Walker’s guitar will make you melt.
This bad boy is SOLD OUT! This has been a trend for Maggie Rogers tour. Her voice is beautifully individual and her music is unlike anything else out there.
Friday (1/20) –
Local Music Showcase: The Library After Dark
1200 is fresh off of his Live show at the KCA and emcee-ing this night of local music at the Library. Some of our favorites are playing, and we’ll be there to show support!
Josh Ritter: Works in Progress
Josh Ritter has done well for himself in Louisville over the past year (sold out show at Headliners, opening up for Jason Isbell). This time he plays the beautiful KCD Theater.
This Nashville producer creates new music from recognizable starts. If you’re into electronic, mash-up stuff, this is your gig.
Grateful Dead fans love GrateVille Dead and the celebration that ensues for Jerry Garcia’s birthday and all this Dead. Hit up Headliners to think of those warmer days.
Saturday (1/21) –
Kaleidico’s ‘Afro•Brain” Listening Party
Kaleidico and The Living Room Series are a match made in heaven. They’ve released a couple of songs already, and they sound like that dreamy goodness we’ve come to love.
James Lindsey – Same Sky Release Party!
James Lindsey’s new stuff is fire. This is free, at The Speed and will feature James Lindsey and all his frands.
The Palace hosts this internationally recognized band. Lead man, Lukas Forchhammer’s voice is sweet and smooth.
The Tunesmiths with Sweet G & The Shine, Whiskey Bent Valley Boys and Hey Hey Honey
Come check out a wide range of Louisville talent.
With the construction on the addition to Zanzabar wrapping up soon, this very well may be one of the last shows in the old space. The Shadowboxers and The Pass have filled the room before, it should happen again. The Shadowboxers are Justin Timberlake approved (and remind us a lot of the beautiful man) and will get your feet moving. The Pass, a Louisville staple, always live up to the hype.
