WFPK Live Lunch: Anemic Royalty

Free lunch with local rockers!

Acid Dad, Mosquito, White Woolly

Saturday (4/7) –

Jim + Teddy: Pre/Post Party benefiting LO

Hang out at Gravely beforehand for a brew or two, head to the show, and then dance with the West Market Street Stompers for their ‘LouOrleans’ rendition at Jimmy Can’t Dance afterward. Sounds like an epic night TBH.

Play: Festival of American Music 2

Last year when I interviewed Teddy prior to Forecastle, he mentioned that he really wanted Jim James to collaborate with the Louisville Orchestra at some point, and here we are. This will be a special evening – I hope you have your tickets!

Dashboard Confessional

Throwback to SCREAMING INFIDELITIES at the top of my lungs with the windows down. Actually sad to be missing this, but I personally think all of the girls at the show will be too much. We’ll just have to enjoy all of the IG stories, which is also fine.

Rogue Wave performs Asleep at Heaven’s Gate, Dear Boy

John Paul White

We could listen to John Paul White’s sultry smoothness all night. And so can you, at KCD Theater.

Circuit des Yeux, Marisa Anderson

TLRS: Blake Skidmore album release show

ICYMI: Blake Skidmore was on WFPK this week with Meg Samples to talk about his new album and the show in Dusty’s living room.

Those Damn Eyes, The Instruction

We haven’t ventured to Club Nirvana, but there is a shit ton of people who have RSVPd for this on Do502, so maybe this is the time to check it out?

Actual Italians, Secondhand Candy, Julius, GRLwood

Sunday (4/8) –

Butchertown Grocery celebrates the LO’s 80th

The Louisville Orchestra is definitely winning, this weekend. Jim James collab and 80th bday celebrations!? If you come to this, you also get a private concert with Teddy and vocal powerhouse Storm Large. You have to cough up some dough, but it will be worth it.

Rocket Paloma, On The Bang, Part Bird

I bet these rockers are glad to be out on tour and not in Milwaukee this time of year…it’s still in the 30s up there right now yall. We hear they put on a pretty epic live show. Why not end your spring break in the goddamn right way, right!?
