Iroquois Amphitheater is back in action for the summer, and we couldn’t be happier. Aside from the having to drive/deal with parking and/or rely on Uber/Lyft to get there, it’s for sure one of our favorite venues. There’s something to be said for those outdoor vibes, even if it is a little weird having nearly half of the concert be happening in daylight.
Having Wilco be one of the first big shows of the year is definitely a win for Iroquois and for the city. The set backdrop on stage was beautifully designed and fit in perfectly with the atmosphere. If the show wasn’t sold out, it was pretty close to that – though the crowd trickled in throughout the evening. It’s pretty spectacular how diverse Wilco’s music library is. I guess when you’ve been around for 20+ years, you have time for musical exploration. Needless to say, Jeff Tweedy is basically a god, the jam sessions throughout the night were on point, and Iroquois continues to be a fav location.
