Live Music Lou’s Can’t Miss: January 22 – 28

Tuesday (1/24) –

BoomBox with Ellie Herring

Because why wouldn’t you want to attend a Tuesday night dance party?

Wednesday (1/25) –

Advance Base, Lisa / Liza, Tender Mercy

So many vibes this week.

Breaking Benjamin

We didn’t know they were still up to much these days, either, but the Pennsylvania rockers will be stopping by Mercury Ballroom to celebrate the one year anniversary of their latest album, Dark Before Dawn.

Nick Dittmeier & The Sawdusters

These Louisville folksters are about to head out on a couple week tour. Let’s get that off to a fab start with this kickoff party at Goodwood.

Thursday (1/26) –

The Midnight Cool Revue

This event starts early so you can double up tonight (🙏). Lydia Peelle – author of The Midnight Cool, a novel set in early 1900s Tennessee – will be at Carmichael’s on Frankfort for a reading & book signing. And a huge added bonus? Her hubby is Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show and he’ll be there for your musical entertainment on the banjo, fiddle, guitjo, and harmonica.

Marshall Crenshaw & The Bottle Rockets

Looks like this show is partially seated, which means you can sit back, relax, and jam with these guys.

Marbin, Lazy Sunday, Hot Brown Smackdown

As I’m sure you know, The New Vintage is on its way out, and they’ve got some solid shows leading up to their closing day. From our experience, any Lazy Sunday show is sure to bring out some energized fans.

Friday (1/27) –

Great Good Fine OK, Flor

Can someone please learn the dance in this video and show off for everyone on the dance floor?

Appalatin, The Damnit, Alex Wright, Misty Mountain String Band, The Carmonas

If the Zbar synthpop tonight isn’t your scene, head down Preston for a folk-filled night.

Saturday (1/28) –

Sammy Adams: Senioritis Tour

Having some early college flashbacks right now. But this just might be a pretty great Saturday night.

Discount Guns, Ramble, Adventure, Good People

I feel like it’s been a while, Discount Guns. Too long.

The Del McCoury Band

The man is a legend. He’s played with and been friends with all of the other greats and it’s always a pleasure to listen to those stories in between songs. If you still haven’t seen these guys, take advantage of this.

A Lion Named Roar, Jubalson, Vesperteen

It sounds like A Lion Named Roar might have some new music to share with us. 🙌
