As one might expect, when DSO took over Mercury Ballroom, there were only the chillest of vibes to be felt. The Grateful Dead tribute band drew the freer Louisville crowd to 4th Street to revel in the lights, sounds and sways of the “Dead concert experience.” The first floor filled with dancers, head bobbers and the like throughout the night. Considering that Rolling Stone has credited Dark Star Orchestra as being “quite possibly the most talented and accomplished tribute band out there,” I’m glad I could get out for this one.
