This Louisville duo is heading to the other Lou – St. Louis – for Lou Fest. When we first caught wind of this festival, we were intrigued simply because it was Saturday/Sunday meaning we didn’t need to miss school/Friday shows. The lineup is also an interesting one that I think will be exactly what we need, this cool (which is random – like, seriously, it’s been so hot!) fall weekend.
Here are some of the sets we’re most excited about seeing!
Saturday
- Hozier – 9pm @ Bud Light Stage
This guy has had a huge year, like huge. I’m sure the crowd will go crazy for “Take Me to Church” but I’m excited to hear the rest of his debut album live. Also, long hair = hawt.
- Brandon Flowers – 7pm @ Bud Light Stage
The Killers front man?! All of the videos and blog reviews that I’ve seen about his string of festival sets have things looking real good.
- Milo Greene – 6pm @ Shade Stage
I’m looking forward to seeing this poppy, fun LA band in person. I heard good things about their Friday afternoon set at Forecastle, but who knows where we were – not gonna make that mistake again!
- Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas – 4pm @ Shade Stage
We missed Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas when they were in town earlier this year, so we will absolutely be at the Shade Stage today. Brittany and I very much enjoy looking at her Instagram pictures- seems like a pretty fresh chick.
Sunday
- The Avett Brothers – 8:30pm @ Bud Light Stage
We’ve always loved The Avetts and likely always will. Each time we seen them, its quite an experience and I expect nothing less to close out Lou Fest.
- Young the Giant – 7:30pm @ Phillips 66 Stage
The crew we’re rolling with this weekend is feeling some type of way for YTG. It’s been since Forecastle a few years back, so I’m feeling this will be a sweet reunion.
- Lord Huron – 5:30pm @ Phillips 66 Stage
I was wet and a little emotionally exhausted at their After-Forecastle show a few months back. This was post Friday’s Sam Smith show-stopping pop up storm, so I’m looking forward to seeing Ben Schneider in a better state of mind.
- Strand of Oaks – 5:30pm @ Shade Stage
Tim Showalter’s early 2015 Zanzabar show has been one of my favorites of the year. His life story is remarkable and his ability to share those experience through exposed songs is something I will always love.
- Pokey LaFarge – 2:30pm @ Bud Light Stage
Pokey is pretty much the man. It doesn’t matter where, what, who, he and his skilled band will show out and pull in all types of music lovers. I’m a bit bummed that his set competes with The Suffers, but I’ll figure something out.
- The Suffers – 2:30pm @ BMI Stage
CHECK THESE PEOPLE OUT! After watching in awe as all ten musicians squeezed onto the Zbar stage and seeing the pure talent of Kam Franklin in person, I’ve been hooked. It’s obvious that it has been a breakout year for this group.
- Delta Rae – 1:30pm @ Bud Light Stage
Fresh off the Headliners Stage – they’ll be in Louisville Saturday night – Delta Rae will get Sunday (Funday) started.
