Live Music Lou’s Can’t Miss: November 19-25

Sunday (11/19) –

Cindy Wilson, Olivia Jean

This will be Ms. Wilson’s 3rd time to Louisville this year (#blessed). Also, we haven’t seen Olivia Jean since she played in-store at the former Bermuda Highway (#RIP), so this will be a fun femme night.

Monday (11/20) –

The Black Heart Procession with Sam Coomes and Fotocrime

Three Mile Pilot’s former members Pall Jenkins and Tobias Nathaniel are being seen with a new crowd and a new title: The Black Heart Procession. With a slightly darker, more intense sound, this band is here to play off their emotion.

Tuesday (11/21) –

St. Vincent

Oh baby. We have love having so many bad ass women play big shows in town. We are kicking off our Thanksgiving break with Annie Clark and her new phenomenal album, Masseduction. The first (and only other) time we saw her, we were in awe of the guitar goddess.

Wednesday (11/22) –

Into The Great Wide Open: A Celebration of Tom Petty

Word is that these tickets sold out pretty much instantly, so I hope you got yours early. I feel like this could be an emotional night, especially with the Louisville musicians who are heading this one up. (Side note: if anyone is selling 2 😬…trying to get some for Britt’s parents, so let us know!)

Terry Riley’s ‘In C’, Another 7 Astronauts, Sara Soltau

The Wednesday before Thanksgiving is one of the biggest bar night of the year. Spending it at Zbar only makes sense.

1980s ‘Back in Town’ Party

This event includes a Guy Fieri lookalike contest. WHAT.

New Wave Blackout!

No, not New Wave Burritos (although you can prob order some for delivery if you want). Dress in your best new wave, punk, or goth ‘fits and enjoy some of the same music.

Mission: Possible Concert ft. Louisville Crashers

‘Tis the season of giving, right? So this benefit concert just might be what you need.

Thursday (11/23) –

EAT. NAP. DRINK. NAP. FOOTBALL. NAP. REPEAT.

Friday (11/24) –

Kaiju’s 3rd Birthday Celebration!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NEIGHBORS! This sounds like a pretty epic night of friends, beers, music, and fun.

Fela Booty (aka Curio Key Club’s alter ego)

Afro beat / Ghana highlife music of the 70s at your newest fav jazz joint.

Black-Out Drunk-Prov

Hosted by Gonzo Improv, this event sounds like a great way to unwind if you are stressed about Thanksgiving drama. According to the event details, “no matter where we are at in the game, when the buzzer goes off, we drink…Nothing says Thanksgiving like drinking to excess.” 🙌🍻

Live music with Charlie Rivera & JC Denison

Need a chill place to go drink with the fam? Goodwood will bring that, along with some tunes.

Rock of Ages

Bring a Toys for Tots donations and get in for free.

Saturday (11/25) –

White Reaper with Boa, Wicked Garden, Anemic Royalty

Louisville’s own rock bros return to town for this Headliners show. We asked the guys a few of our typical questions and we think you’ll be pleased by their responses. The world has loved their latest The World’s Best American Band and we couldn’t agree more. It may be a little harder for you to crowd surf (after all that Thanksgiving grub) but meh we’ll pick you up.

Carly Johnson & The Believers 7″ vinyl release show

It sucks that there are two local shows competing with each other. Carly Johnson is celebrating the release of her new album at Mercury Ballroom. If you’ve not heard this woman’s sultry voice before, then this is your chance. We’ve also seen on the internet that Otis Jr will join for a duet (or two please!)

Second Story Man, Twenty First Century Fox

Second Story Man has a new album to celebrate with us!
