Live Music Lou’s Can’t Miss: May 7 – 13

Take a minute to recenter after Derby, and get ready to keep rolling. We are headed on our 4th consecutive Shaky Knees pilgrimage, so we will be out of town this weekend. There is still plenty going on!

Tuesday (5/9) –

Pinegrove with Russell The Leaf

Pinegrove’s music is very indie and chill. After the events of this weekend, that kind of comfort might be exactly what we need. We’re gonna try and catch their set at Shaky Knees this weekend, but this should be on everyone’s radar here in town.

Ne-Hi, FACS

Their February release, Offers, received some rave reviews, showing the band’s depth as they have grown since their first album a few years ago. I guess you’ll just have to see it for yourself.

Tourmaline The Whale

The Bloomington band will have Tim Faulkner hoppin’ on a Tuesday.

Pilot Season!

Kaijuesdays, because duhhh. So sounds like there will be a couple of sets from Louisville comics, and there will be an audience poll to help decide what’s coming next.

Wednesday (5/10) –

Beer & Jazz with Karan Chavis and Her Quartet

Goodwood continues to kill. Everyone needs a mid-week beer. And jazz is soothing.

This NY female duo apparently likes to wear white. Their angelic, flawlessly meshed voices pair nicely with their fashion choices.

Thursday (5/11) –

Kehlani “SweetSexySavage” World Tour

This girl. Hope you got your tickets early because I believe this one is sold outtttt.

Sean Rowe

Sean Rowe has always stood out for his distinctive baritone voice. He has taken a little turn from Madman for this new project, New Love. We’re into all of it though.

Soft Self Portraits ‘Hold Me Up to the Light’ release, with Bodycocktail, PRJCTR

Soft Self Portraits is having a cassette/digital release for Hold Me Up To The Light. Sounds like a great reason to get on over to Kaiju.

Kick off the Iroquois Summer run with one of Louisville’s favorite couples.

Misty Mountain String Band at The Pavilion on The Square

JTown has a pavilion and there will be music there. That is cool.

Clutch – Psychic Warfare Tour

I know people are excited about Clutch, but also…Lucero will be at the Palace?! I know the fans who have crammed in to Headliners over the years will be pumped for this one.

Redd Kross, Savoy Motel

The McDonald bros have been doing their thing together since 1978, so there’s definitely nothing to worry about here.

Live Music Friday with Hey Hey Honey

Departure: A Tribute to Journey

Get your vocal chords lubricated.

Greg Foresman, with Otis

Greg Foresman is a Louisville artist that has been around for quite some time.

Bendigo Fletcher, Ona, and The Other Years

EP release shows are a fun time. I’ve never heard of locals Bendigo Fletcher, but this is the time. I mean, I really like this track below.
